ME Church

Click Here to link to a hilarious video about "Me Church" the church "Where It's All About You." This video shines a light on churches who have gone overboard in "meeting needs" instead of inspiring mission. Has "The Church" lost its focus on the Mission of God, and made it all about "us." If so, when did this happen, and will it ever get turned around again?

That's hilarious.

Me and Sherry don't give alot financially to the church. But we want to know who does.

Classic.

I checked out the ME Church video. That's a "must use" at some point. Also, I'm following your blog (I'm Aaron, one of the in-coming Beesons). Thanks for the flavor of the program.

Aaron, its great to hear from you! The video really does shine a harsh light on many "successful" churches' attitudes about reaching new people. I think many churches are finding it difficult to bring people into the church with an emphasis on "meeting their needs," then try and turn people around to be focused on the Kingdom. I think it can feel like a bait and switch. There is a difficult balance.

I ordered the ME video to use alongside a video of the persecuted church. The contrast should provide a sobering & convicting devo during Lent.

Kenna, That is a great idea for some intense juxtaposition, that I'm sure will provide a great teaching moment. That's awesome -- I may need to borrow from you (since my next church may not have quite the budget of CUMC)! Thanks for commenting.
