This was taken at the beginning of September during the Beeson Pastor's silent retreat to Gethsemani Abbey. It was the monastery of Thomas Merton and is the oldest Trappist Monastery in the country (since 1848). This is their sanctuary -- the "seats" you see are an anitphonal "choir loft" where the monks stand and sit while praying and singing the Psalter.
